Girl shot at in land dispute

KT NEWS SERVICE JAMMU, July 16: A girl was seriously injured after being shot at by some miscreants with an air gun over land dispute at village Barsapur in Talli Morh area of Miran Sahib last evening.

Police immediately swung into action and managed to arrest two miscreants when they were trying to flee from the spot after committing crime.

Police reports said that a girl sustained wounds on her head after being fired upon by four miscreants by air gun over a land dispute at village Barsapur under the jurisdiction of Police Station Miran Sahib last evening.

Bleeding profusely, the victim was shifted to the Government Medical College (GMC) hospital for treatment.

She has been identified as Vijay Laxmi, daughter of Jagdish Mohan of Tali Morh Miran Sahib.

The accused were identified as Parshotam Kumar, son of Abu Ram, Des Raj, son of Mango Ram, Dalip Kumar and Ranjit Kumar both sons of Des Raj - all residents of Talli Morh.

The accused police said fled from the spot leaving their victim in pool of blood.

Police team headed by Station House Officer (SHO) Police Station Miran Sahib acted swiftly and the cops managed to arrest two accused identified as Parshotam and Des Raj.

Police claimed to have launched a hunt to nab the other accused.

A case FIR number 46 of 2007 under section 307, 109 and 3/25 Arms Act has been registered against them in Police Station Miran Sahib.
