NEW DELHI, Nov 24 (Agencies): Government will make a statement in Parliament tomorrow on the killing of Border Roads Organisation driver Maniyappan Raman Kutty by Taliban in Afghanistan.
Government would ensure safety of all its people working in Afghanistan, Minister of State for External Affairs E Ahamed told reporters here.
"Government has done everything it can to rescue Kutty but unfortunately we could not save his life," he said.
Ruling out any laxity on the part of the government, he said necessary steps were taken in consultation with Afghanistan administration to ensure security of Indians working on various reconstruction projects there.
MPs from Kerala, cutting across party lines, had met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today and sought a statement in the House on the killing of Kutty.
