KT NEWS SERVICE JAMMU, Apr 23: A deputation of Gujjar & Bakarwal Conference today called upon Urmila Singh Chairpreson for National Commission for Scheduled Tribes, Government of India here at Jammu.
Urmila is visiting J&K to access the problems being faced by the members Scheduled tribes in the J&K.
As per a press release, the deputation was led by its Choudhary Noor-ul-Hasan, who apprised her about that political reservation is essential for the development and betterment of Scheduled Tribes (ST) and added that the said community members are reeling under abject poverty, exploitation and humiliation.
He demanded rehabilitation of Scheduled Tribes (ST) who have suffered in 1974, 1965, 171 Kargil war at present on going turmoil and alleged that upper age relaxation is not given to members of ST community in police force recruitment like the members of Scheduled Caste.
She gave a patient hearing and assured that their problems and genuine shall be taken with concerned authorities and she will be raise these demands before the Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad while meeting him tomorrow.
"Rattdi Ratt" draws praise KT NEWS SERVICE JAMMU, Apr 23: "Rattdi Ratt" Dogri adaptation of Walliam Shakespare's play "Macbeth" was staged in International Theatre Festivals on Shakespeare's Plays organized in Five countries under the banner of International Association of Theater Critics (IATC).
An organization under UNESCO having more than two thousands theater critics in the world founded in Paris in 1956 In 24th congress of theatre critics screening of the "Rattdi Ratt" Dogri adaptation of Macbeth at Sofia (Bulgaria) received a standing ovation from a select group of theatre critics from all over the world.
The play was directed by Mushtaq Kak ,a well known Director from Jammu (J&K) Rattdi Ratt was the result of the theatre workshop conducted by Mushtaq Kak with fresh talents on behalf of J&K Academy of Art, Culture & language and National School of Drama in the month of February,08.
The theme of the congress in this year is "Theatre and humanism in today's world of violence" which is very relevant to the state of Jammu and Kashmir ,as it has been facing worst kind of violence during the past 18 years .During various interventions in the congress ,the situation relating to art ,culture & theatre was highlighted by this reviewer .The recent positive support in the activities relating to culture ,particularly theatre , was also explained in the congress.
