Hurriyat welcomes opening of five points along LoC

SRINAGAR, Oct 30 (Agencies) : Welcoming the opening of five points along the Line of Control between India and Pakistan to facilitate relief operations, the moderate faction of Hurriyat Conference will meet here tomorrow to choose members of its delegation which will PoK to help the quake-hit.

"Hurriyat conference is meeting here tomorrow to choose its delegation to go across the border to extend a helping hand to the victims of the October 8 killer earthquake," its chariman Mirwaiz Omer Farooq told reporters here today.

Appreciating the decision of India and Pakistan to open five border meeting points for quake-relief on November 7 as a "good step", the Mirwaiz asked the two countries to allow every individual desiring to cross the LoC to help quake victims on either side.

"I hope every body desirous of lending a helping hand to the quake victims should be allowed to cross the LoC," he said.

However, he asked the two countries to make travel betweem the two countries easy by minimizing the formalities of travel documents.
