BULAWAYO, Aug 26 (Reuters): Indian left-arm pace duo Irfan Pathan and Ashish Nehra wrecked New Zealand's hopes of posting a big total inthe second triangular series match today.
New Zealand, who won the toss and chose to bat, recovered from a poor start to make 215 in 43.1 overs with Craig McMillan hitting a half-century.
Pathan took three for 34, while Nehra claimed two for 22.
Both bowlers straightened the ball sharply off the seam and obtained swing through the air.
They shared the new ball and reduced New Zealand to 36 for five in the 13th over.
Pathan trapped Lou Vincent in front for four, had Scott Styris well caught by Ajit Agarkar running back from mid-off for 11, and dismissed Hamish Marshall leg-before for nine.
Nehra had Stephen Fleming caught behind by wicketkeeper MS Dhoni for one, and trapped Nathan Astle in front for five.
Jacob Oram and McMillan rebuilt the innings with a brisk partnership of 91 for the sixth wicket.
However, McMillan was dropped on 20, and Oram survived chances on nine and 23 from luckless off-spinner Harbhajan Singh.
Oram and McMillan were finally separated in the 29th over when a mix-up stranded both in the middle of the pitch as Yuvraj Singh's throw came in from the deep to Harbhajan at the bowler's end.
Oram sacrificed his wicket and was run out for 36.
McMillan went to his half-century off 47 balls with a towering six over midwicket off Harbhajan, but two balls later Agarkar had him caught at mid-off by Pathan.
The aggressive McMillan scored his 54 off as many deliveries and hit five fours and two sixes.
Brendon McCullum, who was last out for 49, marshalled the lower order well to nurse New Zealand past 200.
