KT NEWS SERVICE SRINAGAR, Feb 15: Under pressure from the Election Commission of India, the government would present the budget proposals before the assembly on February 20.
Earlier dates fixed for presenting budget was February 23.
Highly placed sources revealed that the Election Commission of India has issued an express direction to the state government that they must finish the budget business by or before February 29.
If it gets delayed, the implementation of code of conduct would make the budget presentation almost impossible.
This has forced the state finance ministry to work overtime and finish the pre-budget requirements earlier.
