KT NEWS SERVICE JAMMU, June 10: Thakur Shiv Dev Singh, ex-MLA general secretary J&K Pradesh Congress Committee under took an extensive tour of villages Manmar-Kathar, Pounthal, Surisar, Chalana, Rajan, Keer and Sogown of Nagrota block.
He interacted with the locals and took stock of their day to day problems.
He also thanked them for supporting Congress party in the recently concluded parliamentary elections.
During his visit, the people praised AICC president Sonia Gandhi for her tireless efforts and organisational skill.

Romesh Sharma called on the Congress President and Chairperson United Progressive Alliance s Sonia Gandhi and presented to her a charter of demands.

Gandhi's intervention in lifting ban on recruitment vacancies in state government in view of prevailing situation in J&K.
The state government has signed a MoU with the Centre to restrict filling up vacant posts to check wage bill.
He also demanded special recruitment drive in army and para military forces for educated unemployed youth of the state especially of Rajouri and Poonch districts.
Sharma also pleaded for construction of a bridge at Beri-pattan in Sunderbani teshil which is a vital link for security forces and completion of border roads in Manpur, Danaka, Kanara under border road organization The Minister also stressed the need for redressal of long pending grievances of displaced persons of 1947 and 71, besides settlement of border migrants who had to leave their home and hearths in the border areas due to shelling from across the border in the past.
He demanded land in lieu of agricultural land left behind by 1947 DPS and compensation for the loses incurred to them.
Sharma apprised s Gandhi that project reports of all these works and proposed schemes are lying with the Central Government and sought expeditious approval so that people get benefits.
