PATNA, Aug 24 (UNI): RJD chief and Railway Minister Lalu Prasad today said his party had opposed the Election Commission's decision to make possession of Photo Identity Cards (PICs) mandatory for casting votes in view of the "unsurmountable difficulties generally attached to such an exercise." But when the EC had made the decision, it was its responsibility to provide PIC to each and every voter, he said adding that every care should be taken that nobody was denied of his voting right.
Talking to newspersons here after filing nomination papers for the post of party chief, Prasad said that the RJD had no problem with the Election Commission and he was also ready to meet Chief Election Commissioner B B Tandon to take up issues which warranted detailed discussions before reaching at any final decision.
