Patna, March 01: Giving a pre-poll boost to ruling NDA in Bihar, Ramvilas Paswan's Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) vice president Ranjan Prasad Yadav on Sunday joined the JD(U).
Yadav, after severing his relationship with the LJP, joined the state's ruling party in presence of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and party's national president Sharad Yadav at a function here.
Yadav claimed that hundreds of his supporters had joined the JD(U).
Yadav, considered to be Paswan's favourite, had given indications of quitting the LJP, expressing dissent over Paswan's alleged inclination towards firming up an alliance with the RJD, which the former had deserted long back following differences with the RJD president and Railway Minister Lalu Prasad.
Yadav, who is on a mission to build his image as a Yadav heavywieght parallel to Lalu Prasad, is likely to be fielded from Patliputra Lok Sabha constituency to take on the RJD.
