KT NEWS SERVICE JAMMU, Feb 17: A man and his son were shot dead by the ultras in Doda area of Mahore during the intervening night of February 16 and February 17, 2004 while security forces busted a hideout in Banihal area of Doda today.
Official reports said that some unidentified ultras entered the house of Roshan din last night.
The opened fire on the inmates killing Roshan Din, 48 son of Haji Noor and his 26 year old son Khushi Mohammed on the spot.
The militants later fled from the village.
Police and security forces rushed to the spot and started the search operation.
Police, however, said that the reason behind the killing as per the preliminary investigations was some personal rivalry over the marriage of Roshan Din's daughter with a surrendered militant.
The bodies after autopsy were handed over to the family members for last rites.
Police has also registered a case in this connection and started investigation.
Meanwhile, security forces, during search operation busted a hideout in Banihal (Doda) today and recovered two hand grenades, 460 Kgs assorted rations and 60 litres kerosene oil.
