NEW DELHI, Mar 2 (UNI): It was the "flavour of India" thatcharacterised the menu for US President George Bush and hiswife as they savoured the unique taste of the Indian cuisineduring their luncheon with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh at the Taj Palace hotel here this afternoon.
Food from almost every part of India-the delicious North Indian curries, seafood and prawns from the western parts of the country and the tangy biryanis from Hyderabad - was served for the US President and his wife.
The best in authentic Indian food formed the menu at the power lunch hosted by the Prime Minister in the honour of the US President, sources said.
Infact, the hotel had specially flown in Corporate Chef of Taj Luxury Hotels Hemant Oberoi to supervise the menu.
A special item at the luncheon at the Durbar Hall was a unique preparation of prawns with alphonso mango, which was specially brought in from Ratnagiri district of Maharashtra.
However, chicken and Mughlai itewere not a part of the menu keeping in view the threat of bird flu, the sources said.
