Aarushi case: Talwar's bail plea hearing deferred NOIDA, JUNE 7 (AGENCIES): The prime accused in Noida double murder case, Dr Rajesh Talwar's lawyer on Saturday filed a fresh bail plea in the special magistrate for Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) court in Ghaziabad.

The court, meanwhile, has deferred its hearing on the plea till Tuesday.

Dr Talwar was remanded to 14-day judicial custody on Thursday.

"The special magistrate who handles CBI (Central Bureau of Investigation) cases is visiting jails on Saturday.

Hence the case was listed for Tuesday," said Talwar`s lawyer Satish Tamta.

"The original bail application filed in the chief judicial magistrate`s court at Noida has been withdrawn and a fresh application was filed Friday before the special magistrate for CBI cases at Ghaziabad," he added.

He said that in the bail application, "we have just focussed on the fact that Talwar is innocent since CBI has no evidence against him." On Friday, the CBI continued its search for the missing weapon.

Based on the clues given to the CBI team by Dr Talwar during his lie detector test, the investigators searched the drains near Talwar's residence.

However, all its efforts went in vain as the agency did not find anything there.

Dr Talwar is the prime accused in his daughter Aarushi and domestic help Hemraj's murder.

Aarushi and Hemraj were killed on the intervening night of May 15-16 at the Talwar residence.

Rajasthan govt refuses to hold talks with Gujjars in Bayana JAIPUR, JUNE 7 (AGENCIES): The Rajasthan government on Saturday afternoon refused to hold talks with Gujjars in Bayana in the state's Bharatpur district.

The government instead asked the leaders of the agitating community to come to state capital Jaipur if they wanted to meet government representatives on their demand for ST status.

The refusal from the Vasundhara Raje government came hours after Gujjars formed a 50-member representative panel in the morning to hold talks with the state representatives.

Gujjars had sent a letter to the state government through Zee News and proposed to hold talks in the afternoon in Bayana.

The letter followed community leader Kirori Singh Bainsla's remarks yesterday that the talks could only be held in Bayana.

However, the government, after discussing the issue at a high-level meeting, chose to adopt a tough stand instead of trying to resolve the conflict and decided not to send its representatives to Bayana.

Instead, it asked Bainsla to send his envoys to Jaipur for the talks.

The Gujjars had on Friday decided to hold the talks with the state government after a meeting of top community leaders including leading intellectuals.

The Gujjar Mahapanchayat was held a day after the Raje government sent a fresh invitation to the agitators to come to the negotiating table.

Speaking after the Mahapanchayat, Bainsla had said the talks should be held at Bayana district which has been the epicentre of the stir by the community since May 23.

"Talks will take place in Bayana," he said.

"We have only one demand: that the state government should send a recommendation granting ST status to Gujjars," he added.

Pilot in Dausa Meanwhile, Congress MP Sachin Pilot is in Dausa to attend the funeral of 20 Gujjar protestors killed during recent clashes with the police.

On Friday, Gujjars had demanded Pilot's presence as a condition to perform the last rites of 20 protesters killed during the May 24 violence.

While agreeing to attend the funeral, Pilot made it clear that he would not attend the Gujjar community's meeting to decide on talks with the Rajasthan government.

Apart from demanding Pilot's presence, the Gujjar Samaj at Sikandra in Dausa district also called for the release of two rebel BJP MLAs - Prahalad Gunjal and Attar Singh Bhadana - currently detained in Cental Jail in Jaipur.
