More medals at Commonwealth: Sushil

BHOPAL, Oct 8 (UNI): Olympic bronze medallist wrestler Sushil Kumar today expressed confidence that India would bag a higher number of medals at the Commonwealth Games next year.

"Indian wrestlers are in hectic preparations for the Games.

The Government and Indian Wrestling Federation (IWF) are providing every facility for better training," Kumar, who was here for the National Wrestling Championship (NWC), told mediapersons.

The IWF asked some wrestlers not to take part in the NWC so as to "conserve energy" for the Games.

Kumar said sportspersons other than cricketers receive same recognition after international achievements.

The Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna awardee had missed out on a medal at the Wrestling World Championships in Denmark last month.

And the wrestler said, "I could not win a medal at WCC as I made some mistakes in the decisive moments."
