KT NEWS SERVICE JAMMU, Mar 15 : The 4th Battalion of Jammu and Kashmir rifle known as Fateh Shibji has embarked upon a motorcycle expedition to commemorate the olden Jubilee celebration of the Battle of Hussainiwala in 1956.
The expedition team comprises of one officer, two Junior commissioned officer and 13 other ranks with an additional administrative back up team of one Junior commissioned officer and four other ranks in being led by Captain Asif Abbas.
The motor Cycle expedition was flagged of from Hussainiwala border by General Officer Commanding, 7 infantry Division and was successfully in reaching Rohtang La despite adverse climatic condition.
Touching Yol Cantt they reached Jammu on March 13 where they were flagged off by Chief of Staff, 16 Corps.
The motor Cycle rally team will reach from Amritsar the same day the expedition will culminate at Ferozpur on tomorrow at the Hussainiwala border.
The expedition team will cover a total distance of approx 2000 kilometers in grueling 10 days.
Enroute they visited the Ex -servicemen of the Regiment and the youth of Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu district of J&K to motivate them to join Army as also to inculcate the spirit of adventure and promote outdoor activities amongst all ranks of the battalion.
