Musharraf extends gratitude to India for relief support

ISLAMABAD, Oct 29 (UNI): Pakistan President General Pervez Musharraf has thanked Indians and religious leaders for extending their moral and material support to the survivors of the earthquake that killed over 55,000 people in the Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) and the frontier province.

Gen Musharraf conveyed his sentiments of gratitude to a three-member inter-religious delegation, which offered all possible help to the Pakistan government in rendering relief to the survivors, Pandit N K Sharma of the Universal Association for Spiritual Awareness told UNI over telephone.

The delegation members included Dr K A Paul of the Washington based Global Peace Intaitive and Rev Dhammadass, Spritual Head of Sri Lanka and Pandit Sharma representative of the Jagatgaru Shankarachrya of Dwarka Swami Swaroopanand.

During their 80-minute long meeting, Paul also offered his personal aircraft to Gen Musharraf for relief operations.

A special 'Angvastra' was presented to the President and prayer session was held for his safety.

The delgation, which also met Nilofar Bukhtair, Minister of State for Women Development and other officials, was of the view that India and Pakistan would be able to resolve their proble mutually.
