KT NEWS SERVICE SRINAGAR, Feb 18 : Department of Animal Husbandry organized a daylong seminar-cum- workshop on "Bird Flu" at Poultry Complex Hariparbath, Srinagar today wherein the scientists and senior functionaries of the department reported that there has not been any report of the disease in the state, so far.
The experts however, stressed to those who are handling the poultry business to be cautious.
The people residing around wetlands and water-bodies like Dal Lake, Wullar, Nageen, Anchar and others have been asked to use chlorinated water for their own selves and their poultry birds to prevent contracting different infections including bird flu.
Director Animal Husbandry Kashmir and Scientists of various faculties of the SKUAST were also present in the seminar.
