KT NEWS SERVICE JAMMU, Mar 2: Rising out of its slumber exactly a month after the results of the Jammu Municipal Corporation elections were announced, Praja Parishad Jammu and Kashmir (PP) today admitted to the fact that it did not have any representation in the newly elected JMC.
However, that did not deter its president, Chandermohan Sharma, from airing his views on topics ranging from the Srinagar-Muzaffarabad bus service to the results of the Municipal elections.
Opposing the bus service or any other road links, Sharma said, "Under the constitution of India and that of Jammu and Kashmir, the Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir is an integral part of India, therefore, Pakistan government has no right to interfere in the internal matters of the state." He also condemned the Pakistan government for "poking its nose" in the Baglihar hydel power project.
The PP president also expressed satisfaction over the party's performance during the civic polls, emphasising that Parishad had been able to garner 11, 040 votes in 40 wards as compared to Congress' 29, 985 and BJP's 34, 318 votes.
