WASHINGTON, Oct 11 (Reuters): The Pentagon has no indication that Saudi-born fugitive Osama Bin Laden has been captured in Afghanistan, US defence department spokeswoman Victoria Clarke said today.
"I have no indication of that," Clarke told reporters, adding that defence secretary Donald Rumsfeld had received no such indication in his morning briefing with the commander responsible for US forces attacking targets in Afghanistan.
Clarke spoke in response to questions about rumors in financial markets that Bin Laden might have been captured.
The United States has accused the Saudi-born fugitive of masterminding the Sept 11 attacks on America.
