KT NEWS SERVICE JAMMU, Mar 17: The Jammu and Kashmir Nursing Association has demanded upgradation of pay scale of senior and junior staff nurses, supervisors and matrons.
In a meeting which was held under the leadership of Pawan Kour the members of the Association said that the workload was more than the prescribed norms on the nurses and at present a nurse has to look after 60 to 80 beds.
They further demanded risk allowance to nurses working in the health and medical education department, over time allowance, compensation for those who are performing 12 hours night duty, enhancement of uniform allowance from Rs.
100 to Rs 500 and promotion after five years as per seniority basis.
All the members of the Association have decided to stage a protest demonstration on April 3 in support of their demands.
Those who attended the meeting included Koshal Kumari,Sureshta Jamwal, Surinder Kour, Neelam Jamwal, Nirmal Sethi, Baljeet Kour, Krishana Kumari and others.
