KT NEWS SERVICE JAMMU, Feb 18: District Congress Committee (DCC), unit Poonch demanded opening of Poonch-Kotli road so that divided families can meet each other frequently.
As per a press relese, Jahangir Mir, prominent leader Congress (I) in a meeting hailed the healing touch policy of Mufti-led coalition government which has created thaw in relations between India and Pakistan.
He also appreciated the efforts of both Pakistan and India to open Uri-Muzafarabad road.
Mir further said as the problems of divided families is more acute in Poonch and Rajouri districts, government of India should have also considered opening up of Poonch-Kotli road.
He said by doing so an atmopshere for solving Kashmir dispute may be found which caused two wars and more than 15 years of insurgency in the state causing death and destruction every where in the state.
