KT NEWS SERVICE JAMMU, Jan 4: The Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Khurshid Ahmad Ganai has appealed to the people not to pay more than 10 per cent over the earlier fare structure fixed by the Transport Authority.
However, the basic revised fare for first 3 kms should in no case exceed Rs.
2.50 instead of Rs.
1.50 of old fare structure.
Chairing a joint meeting of Transporters, Traffic and Police officer and Regional Transport officials, the Divisional Commissioner asked the Police and Traffic departments to conduct extensive checking of buses and mini-buses in the city and other areas and strongly deal with those who are found over-charging the fare than the fixed rates.
He asked the Regional Transport Authority to immediately prepare point-to-point fare structure for the convenience of the passengers.
