'Press gallery'-shares limelight

KT NEWS SERVICE JAMMU, Feb 20: The Press Gallery today shared its place in the "limelight" when an officer from the intelligence wing of state police was found sitting among the press people, perhaps noticing the activities going on in the Legislative Assembly, but from a "different angle." It was when one of the press members, thanks to his "discerning eye," sent it written on a piece of paper to the NC member, Ali Mohammed Sagar, who did not take it very lightly.

Just after going through the contents of the piece of paper, Sagar, addressing speaker Tara Chand, said that if the members of the House were "anti-social elements," that needed to be under scrutiny.

For a moment, the House, as well as the rest of the spectators, took it to be a part of the debate going on.

But when Sagar pointed out towards the Press Gallery and cited the paper chit, saying that there was an intelligence officer sitting among the media persons, the focus shifted upwards towards that officer, who, used to working clandestinely, unfortunately became the focus of attention for a brief period of time, till he moved out of the Press Gallery.
