Ration cards under TPDs to be issued shortly

KT NEWS SERVICE JAMMU, Jun 20: State Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution Department has informed all the ration card holders of Jammu city that fresh ration cards under Targeted Public Distribution System (TPDS) strictly as per Census 2001 population are being issued shortly as per the existing norms.

As per Director, Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution Department, Jammu, all the ration card holders are advised to collect the declaration forms on cash payment of Rs.

one per declaration form from their respective ration dealers.

The public has requested to return the forms duly filled up in all respects along with self attested four passport size photographs of the head of the family to the dealer within seven days.

The ration card holders have been further advised to write correct name, age, occupation, address and monthly income of all the members of the family.

1873 cows, buffaloes impregnated artificially KT NEWS SERVICE RAJOURI, Jun 20: To increase milk production in Rajouri district through use of new technology, Department of Animal Husbandry Rajouri impregnated 1988 cows and buffaloes through artificial insemination with quality bulls across the district during first two months of this current fiscal.

Meantime, 1822 inferior bulls have been castrated to avoid birth of inferior animals in the district; the department registered 1043 quality calves during the period.

To avoid outbreak of any disease, department is in touch with the veterinary department to maintain animal health and vaccinations are being done across the district.

14, 565 animals have been treated against whooping cough, black quarter and FMW.

Besides preventive measures have also been taken to prevent the outbreak of any disease among the poultry birds.

The department vaccinated 79903 poultry birds in the district.

Meantime, 29694 animals have also been treated against various diseases and dozing has been administrated to 30519 animals.

Poultry being the subsidiary income of the farming community 2547 poultry birds have been reared besides establishment of 177 poultry backyard units during the reported period.
