KT NEWS SERVICE SRINAGAR, Sep 26: Retail Kerosene Dealers Association today held protest demonstrations in Lal Chowk against the government decision of revoking the licenses issued in favour of them.
The protesting license holders maintained that they had been providing kerosene to the people for more than 30 years and now the government was trying to snatch from them their livelihood.
They were of the view that there are some vested interests who are hell bent to bring miseries to them as well as their families.
"When we got the license we had written in the declaration form that neither would seek any government job, neither apply for any sort of loan.
But the last few months some the office bearers in unison.
The protesters threatened that if the licenses are snatched from them then they would go for a mass agitation if their licenses were revoked.
They added that the revocation of the licenses would also contribute towards the rising graph of unemployment and it would difficult for the government to tide over the crisis.
Mir ridicules Soz's claims KT NEWS SERVICE SRINAGAR, Sep 26:Ridiculing the claim made by senior Congress leader Prof Saif-ud-din Soz that he had been instrumental in resumption of dialogue between Hurriyat Conference (A) and Government of India, the chairman of Jammu Kashmir Liberation Forum (JKLF), Javed Ahmad Mir today claimed that it was due to the sacrifices offered by the Kashmiris that talks are being held for the resolution of Kashmir issue.
In a statement, Mir said that the Kashmiris have offered numerous sacrifices for the last 56 years.
He added that the Kashmiris are peace loving people and they want an end to the daily bloodshed so that there is an end to their daily sufferings.
The chairman of JKLF stated that the Hurriyat Conference came into existence only due to the sacrifices offered by the Kashmiris and it is due to these sacrifices that both India and Pakistan are talking to each other.
But at the same time he added that there has not been a positive development in these talks regarding the solution of the Kashmir issue.
