Revenue deptt pulled up

KT NEWS SERVICE JAMMU, Jan 4: The House Committee on Government Assurances has pulled up the Revenue Department for showing lack of seriousness in implementing the government assurances given on the floor of the House from time to time.

The Assurance Committee which met here today with M.

Tarigami in chair reviewed the progress of implementation of various assurance given by the government in the House.

In today's meeting the committee discussed the matters related with the Revenue Department.

While reviewing details provided by the revenue department the committee expressed grave concern over the luke-warm attitude of the department in dealing with such sensitive matters and failure to provide complete information sought.

The committee viewed the matter relating to the government land scams at various parts of the state including Rawalpora, Narakara, Hanjura in Budgam district, Galinder Pampore, Pahalgam, Batmalloo, Paloura in Jammu.

The committee observed that the matter did not get the due attention of the government despite of the fact that government land amounting to crores of rupees has been encroached upon.
