"Benazir" I have yet to wail bellyful, To mourn the death of my sister, Who was a great woman of the world, And the tallest leader of my neighbour.

She was the most beautiful, the most intelligent, Educated from Oxford and Howard, She led her country twice as premier, Following the footsteps of her father.

She was a daughter of the East, Who raised the status of woman, Fearless, dauntless a leader she was, Braver than anyone in the world.

The poor of her land loved her the most, She always fought for their rights, They loved her from the core of their heart, Missed her when she was abroad.

When in power, she ruled with justice, Faced challenges with a strong heart, Even some plotted her to entice, She routed them with an iron-hand.

She loved her land greater than anyone, Though forced to live abroad, She was more concerned with her poor's plight, And wanted to help them get out of morass.

Returning from abroad to a warm reception, To contest successfully the parliament election, When landed in Pak, she prayed to God, Millions received her with an open heart.

People in millions rejoiced at her return, Eager to anoint her as their premier, She launched a nationwide election campaign, Attracted large crowds in her gatherings.

It was sure, she would win, But luck had something else in store for her, Once returning from an election rally, She boarded the bullet proof van, Along with her party stalwarts.

All at once, a crowd appeared from nowhere, Raising slogans in her support, Out of the sunroof, she lent her head, To wave her loyalists and lovers.

Someone among the crowd, raised his pistol, And fired a few shots at her head, All unexpectedly down she fell, Was she removed to nearest hospital.

Albeit the surgeons did their best, They couldn't bring her back to life, Thus the woman who loved her nation the most, Was put to death in a gruesome way.

Alas! Oh! Alas! She breathed her last, Landed the whole nation in lament and loss, This broke the heart of everyone, People all over bewailed and mourned.
