Several BJP workers injured during protest against power crisis

PATNA, June 16 (UNI) More than 50 youth activists of the BJP sustained injuries following violent clashes during a demonstration today in protest against the ongoing electricity crisis in the state capital.

BJP member of the dissolved Bihar assembly Navin Kishore Prasad Sinha, who was leading the procession, said as soon as activists reached the Bihar State Electricity Board office, workers locked the gate and pelted stones on BJP workers.

He said in retalitation the party activists too pelted stones.

Meanwhile, the police reached the spot and resorted to lathicharge on the demonstrators.

Police also lobbed teargas shells to disperse the agitating mob.

Sinha claimed that nearly 50 activists sustained injuries in the stone-pelting incident.

Three seriously injured were being treated at a local hospital.

He alleged that the BSEB employees attacked the procession in a well-planned manner.

He said the party would demonstrate in front of the district headquarters from tomorrow in protest against the ongoing water and power crisis.
