KT NEWS SERVICE SRINAGAR, Jan 22: Taking exception to the statement made by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Chairman Hurriyat Conference (M) that militants should drop the guns now, Save Kashmir Movement (SKM) today said that the same shows that Mirwaiz has accepted defeat and wants to live a life of pleasure.
In a telephonic statement to CNS, a local news agency, Kamran Aslam, a spokesman of SKM said that by issuing such a statement the chairman of Hurriyat Conference (A) has lost his claim of being the leader of the common masses.
He added that Mirwaiz is issuing such statements which go quite contrary to the sacrifices offered by the people during the "ongoing movement".
"In the past we have seen people like Kukka Parrey playing their part in sabotaging the ongoing movement.
The statement issued by Mirwaiz is on those lines and it shows he is following the diktats issued by the government sponsored agencies.
Our appeal to the pro-freedom people and the other militant groups would be to remain vigilant against such forces," said Kamran.
The SKM spokesman said that the group would take each and every step while ensuring that the "ongoing movement" to its logical conclusion while keeping the sacrifices offered in this respect from time to time in high esteem.
He added that the white paper containing the names of "defeatist elements" would be released very soon by SKM.
