Talib Hussain clarifies report

KT NEWS SERVICE JAMMU, Feb 16: Chowdhary Talib Hussain, Member of Parliament of recently dissolved Lok Sabha has clarified that since he was legislator for two years so the amount which was meant to be spent through him under MPLADS was Rs 4 crores.

In response to a news item published in "The Kashmir Times" in its issue on February 16, "Record sheet of members of Parliament in 13th Lok Sabha," NC legislator averred that he only spent Rs 6.38 crores including Rs 2.38 crore which remained unspent before his tenure as member of Parliament.

The full amount of Rs 6.38 crore has already been released against works which have either been completed or under execution.

This amount was shared by Jammu district-Rs 323.095 crores; Rajouri District-Rs 209.631 crores and Poonch District Rs 105.630 crores.

He also contested the claim that he did not make a single speech in the Lok Sabha during his brief tenure of two years saying that LS record speaks itself in this regard.
