MUMBAI, Sep 24 (UNI): Crorepati bar dancer Tarannum Khan alias 'Tannu' and two cricket bookies, arrested for their alleged involvement in cricket betting, will be produced in a local court on Monday for extension of their police custody.
The twenty-five-year-old Tarannum and bookies Milind Dhiraj Nandu alias 'DJ' (35) and Pradeep Kuwanrji Parmar (40) were arrested on September 16 and remanded to police custody till tomorrow.
The trio were booked under sections 420 (cheating), 120 (b) (conspiracy), 109 (abetment), 201 (giving false information) of Indian Penal Code (IPC) besides facing charges under Gambling Act, Telegraph Act and Information Technology Act.
In the remand application, the prosecution has submitted that there are 157 names of bookies, telephone numbers of some cricketers and Bollywood personalities in Tarannum's mobile phone, and these people are yet to be questioned.
On August 28, Income-Tax officials had raided Tarannum's plush bungalow at suburban Andheri and seized several incriminating documents, mobile phone numbers of bookies, cricketers and huge amount of cash and jewellery.
