New Delhi, Feb 6 (UNI): A quake of moderate intensity rocked the Little Nicobar Island this morning within hours of one hitting the North Coast of North Andaman early today.
The quake measuring 5.4 on the Richter Scale was experienced off East Coast of Little Nicobar at 1138 hrs, according to the India Meteorological Department.
Earlier in the day, a quake of 5.6 intensity hit the North Coast of North Andaman at 1945 hrs.
Experts aver that the quakes are one in a series of continuing aftershocks since December 26 last under-sea quakes which rocked the Indian Ocean region centred at Sumatra.
