AIZAWL, Feb 17 (UNI): The Mizoram government has approved the proposal to amend the Mizoram Urban Areas Rent Control Act of 1974.
Official sources said the cabinet meeting, chaired by Chief Minister Zoramthanga and attended by ministers, has approved the proposal to amend the Rent Control Act and the Mizoram Salaries and Allowance of Ministers Act 1999.
The proposals to review premium of taxes and create of the post of the joint Director (Survey) under the revenue department have also been approved.
The meeting also authorised the proposal to upgrade the post of two senior specialists under the health department as consultants.
The sources also stated that the proposal to upgrade 25 LDC posts under various government departments to UDC post has been recommended.
However, the demand for matching revised higher pay scales comparable to the new pay scale for engineers by the Mizoram Government Grade-A officers's was under consideration, the sources informed.
