KT NEWS SERVICE JAMMU, Aug 17: A woman was killed and a dozen persons including two sons of a DySP were injured in separate road mishaps in the region since late night.
Police reports said that a woman who was injured in an accident at Basantpur area of Kathua succumbed to her wounds at ASCOMS hospital Sidhra today.
The deceased has been identified as Satya Devi, wife of Anant Singh of Basantpur Kathua.
Police said that she was injured in an accident at Basantpur on July 8, 2007.
She was admitted to the ASCOMS hospital the same day.
Her condition continued to deteriorate and she died today.
The body after autopsy was handed over to the family members for last rites.
Half a dozen persons including two sons of DySP Maqsood Hussain Shah were injured when the TATA Sumo vehicle in which they were traveling in collided head on with an army vehicle at Sunderbani today.
The injured were identified as Lal Hussain and Mehar Shah, sons of Maqsood Hussain shah of Poonch at present Janipur, Dwarika Nath Pandita of Talab Tillo, Satish Sharma of Rehari Colony, Chetan Sharma of Sanjay Nagar and Vishal sharma of Rehari.
All the injured were shifted to the SDH Sunderbani from where they were referred to the GMC hospital for advanced treatment.
Their condition was said to be improving.
Meanwhile six persons were injured other road mishaps and they were admitted to the GMC hospital for treatment.
