All but one body claimed among 13 in Sharjah air crash

DUBAI, Feb 17 (UNI) Bodies of all but one of the 13 Indians who died in the Sharjah air crash have been claimed.

Body of Purshottam Lal, whose passport details showed he belonged to Jalandhar, has not yet been claimed.

Since nobody has approached the authorities to claim the body the Indian consulate in Dubai has sent a fax to the Punjab government chief secretary seeking more details about his family, a consulate source told The Gulf yesterday.

Meanwhile, bodies of the couple from Bhatkal in Karnataka, Ahmed Pervez and Shameem Pervez were buried in Dubai on Sunday.

Bodies of their children, three-year-old Naama Pervez and 14-month-old Ula Pervez, were buried in Dubai on Thursday.

The charred remains of Faizal Khan, who was also among the 43 passengers on board Iran's Kish Airline Fokker plane, is also likely to be buried in Dubai.

His younger brother who came from Hong Kong had helped in the identification by donating blood samples required for the DNA tests.

The body of Pookkottil Manoj will be taken to his home state of Kerala today.

The remains of Sony was taken to Mumbai on Sunday.

The body of a Sharjah restaurant worker Mohanan KS has been identified with the help of the blood sample of his daughter back home.

Bodies of Jaganathan S and Kandaswamy S from Tamil Nadu have been identified and a decision whether to take their bodies to India is awaited.
