KT NEWS SERVICE JAMMU, Mar 3: Trespone Archery team won the Archery Competition 2005 by defeating Changila Sports club Choskore by 4 points in the final which was played at Beamathang in Kargil.
It was organised by Border Organisation of Kargil in which four teams of the district participated in this competition.
Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Kargil, Tsering Muroop was the chief guest in the final match where in Trespone Archery team defeated Changila Sports Club by 4 points.
Speaking on the occasion, Muroop said that archery has been the only past time activity for the people of Ladakh , as such it has deeply rooted in our culture.
He further said that archery becomes an essential means for the performance of cultural, social and traditional activities.
He appreciated the efforts exhibited by the Border Organisation, Kargil in upholding the age old traditional game.
Later, the chief guest gave away the prizes to Syed Zakir of Trespone as best shooter and the participants who adjudged as first, second and third respectively.
