KT NEWS SERVICE JAMMU, May 12: Inter- School tournaments in kabaddi, kho-kho, volleyball and wrestling for the boys and girls organised by the Department of Youth Services & Sports District, Jammu began today at Govt Girls Higher Secondary School, Miran Sahib.
Sureshta Devi, Principal of Govt Girls Higher Secondary School, Miran Sahib , who is also chairman of the Miran Sahib Zone was the chief guest on the occasion.
About 24 schools of the zone participating in the four disciplines during the tournament.
Sureshta said that elaborate to the participants/players about the importance of sports and games in today’s life.
She enlightened to the players that sports and games are essential part of the education and school curriculums.
She also stressed every students should participated and take keen interest in games for healthy environment.
The matches will be organised under the supervision of organising secretary Chander Kanta, Physical Education Master.
In Kho-kho, U-14(boys), BHS Simbal Camp defeated BHS Badyal Brahamana by six points.
In kabaddi, Under-14 years age group, BMS Kotlimian Fateh outplayed BMS Rattian by 10 points.
In Under-17 boys section, BHS Badayal Brahamana trounced BHS Kirpind by three points.
