Community health officers concerned over pay anomalies

Ashutosh Sharma KT NEWS SERVICE JAMMU, Aug 22: Community Health Officers Association has expressed concern over pay anomalies amongst the Community Health Officers.

As per a press note, the president of the association, Subash Antal alleged that despite government's order number 302-HME-1997 issued by Commissioner Secretary Health dated 20-03-1997 which clearly states that after the completion of two years as probation period, a CHO is entitled to be promoted to higher pay scale), the Community Health Officer (CHO) in service and retirees who have put in two years service as probation are not being considered for higher pay scale, by Directorate Health Services as per the government policy.

He further specified that although the Association many a time approached Director Health Services and Secretary Health but nothing was done in this connection so far.

He maintained that the Association delegation now would meet Minister for Health and Medical Education, Mangat Ram Sharma and seek his intervention to mitigate their grievances.
