BANGALORE, June 23 (UNI) Karnataka Chief Minister N Dharam Singh today asserted that the government was stable, dismissing speculations that the state will go for mid-term Assembly elections.
Speaking to newspersons after reviewing the infrastructure projects here, he said there was no need for such a step.
The existing set up would continue and there was no problem whatsoever, he added.
Singh, who returned from New Delhi after meeting party President Sonia Gandhi, said the two ministerial berths would be filled up any time now.
Chairmen of various boards and corporations would be asked to resign today to pave way for fresh appointments.
The appointments would be done based on the Maharashtra pattern.
His meeting with Gandhi and her Political Secretary Ahmed Patel lasted for 20 minutes and was held in a cordial atmosphere, he added.
He also explained the reasons for the party's dismal performance in the recently concluded by-elections in the Shimoga parliamentary and Chamarajapet Assembly constituencies.
He said the new president for the state party unit would be elected on June 29 through elections, if need be.
