Harshdev rues delay in Oath Ceremony

KT NEWS SERVICE JAMMU, Jan 7: Panthers Party MLA and CLP leader of the party, Harsh Dev Singh regretted the delay in holding the oath ceremony of elected MLAs and also condoled the demise of GM Shah, Former Chief Minister.

Singh questioned the inordinate delay in administering oath to the newly elected MLAs.

He pointed out that despite of the fact that 11th legislature assembly stood constituted w.e.f.

December 31, 2008, neither any date for administering oath to new MLAs had been announced nor any steps initiated in this regards.

He alleged that delay appeared to be deliberate, to delay the budget session slated to commence in January.

He further urged upon the governor to intervene so as to ensure that the state legislature meet for at least hundred days in a year as per the consensus reached at national level in this regard so that the problems of public could be debated effectively in the Assembly.

He demanded a minimum of 60 days budget session for deliberating important issues of public importance namely delimitation, POK and West Pak refugees' issues, migrants' problems and issue of unemployment.

Working committee of the JKNPP in its emergency meeting condoled the death of former chief minister Ghulam Mohd.

Shah who died in Srinagar on Tuesday.
