DUBAI, Feb 12 (UNI) The death toll of Indians in Tuesday's air crash in Sharjah has gone up to 13 with the death of an infant.
The 14-month old infant Ula Pervez was travelling with her father Ahmed Pervez, mother Shameem Pervez and 3-year old sister Naama Pervez, a source at the Indian consulate was quoted by the Gulf Today as saying today.
The family was from Bhatkal district in Karnataka.
Ula, who was not listed in the flight manifest, was identified yesterday.
Only the documents regarding the identification of Naama need to be obtained.
The Consulate General of India is awaiting the arrival of Shameem's father, who works in Saudi Arabia, to identify the bodies and complete rest of the formalities.
The consulate, with the help of local authorities, has managed to get the documents of 10 of the 13 Indians who died in the crash.
Two of the victims were identified to be from Tamil Nadu.
Though the identities, in terms of the passport details of the eight victims have been traced, not all bodies have been identified as some bodies were charred beyond recognition.
The consulate will issue Emergency Certificate (EC) that is required for the local authorities to issue the death certificates.
Fees for all other documentation, whether it be to repatriate the bodies or to conduct the funerals locally, would also be issued free of cost.
Depending on the requests from the next of kin, the consulate would also get the two Indian flag carriers, Indian Airlines and Air-India, to carry the caskets free to India.
