‘Farooq is no body to accept our resignations’ KT NERWS SERVICE JAMMU, Nov 8: Raising banner of revolt against the JKCA president (who is also Union Minister for New and Renewable energy ) Farooq Abdullah, a faction of the working committee challenged him saying that he is no body to accept our resignations.
With this the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association finds itself in a major crisis with the opponents of JKCA president Farooq Abdullah and chairman Aslam Goni accusing him of functioning in a dictatorial style and wanted to run the state richest body in an autocratic manner to snub every opposition.
Addressing the media persons jointly here today, Joint Secretary, Sudershan Mehta, Working committee members Rahul Bharti and Parveen Kapahi said that it is the working committee which can only decide the fate of our resignations which we have tendered him in protest against the chairman of JKCA.
They told that neither Dr Farooq Abdullah nor Aslam Goni is no body to show way out to the selectors and members of the different sub committees, which was formed for the smooth functioning of the association They denied the allegations that they have swindled the money, they said in fact we have asked them to allot more funds for the Jammu wing so that the pending liabilities can be cleared.
They also alleged that the Chairman, JKCA frequently changing the selection lists polluted selection process to dole out to non selected and undeserved players.
Describing the Goni’s claim as a ''blatant lie,'' they said that none of us has swindled the money he cannot interfere in the selections process of the JKCA They were reacting to the allegations levelled by the Aslam Goni on other day.
When asked that whether the JKCA chief or the Modern Cricket Club has powers to throw any body out with out serving any notice, they could not reply and continue singing against the JKCA Chairman Aslam Goni.
Replying to question if JKCA chief is not resolving such burning issues, why you are asking him to hold fresh elections ? and show him the doors of the association in order to clean the JKCA, they said we will be soon sending him the resolution duly signed by the one fourth members of the working committee and ask him to hold annual general body meeting where in if need arise we will even not hesitate to take up this step by asking to hold fresh elections.
With this, the dissent continue to grow in more in JKCA, the teams participating in the Ranji Trophy and other national level tournaments organized by the Board of Control for Cricket in Indian (BCCI) put to dilemma which is the real one and who will look after him It has also become a routine practice of the JKCA to counter allegations on each other as when the Ranji Trophy season starts .
