NEW DELHI, June 20 (UNI) The All India Momin Conference (AIMC) today expressed reservations against the grant of five per cent reservation to Musli in Andhra Pradesh, saying quota on the ground of religion was not proper.
Citing the Mandal Commission recommendations, AIMC president Dr.
Khalid Rashid said quota should be fixed for only those Musli who were included as backwards in the Commission's list.
"Reservation should be given on the socio-economic condition of the caste, and Mandal Commission has already decided this matter," he added.
The matter will be discussed in the working committee of the AIMC, he said.
