Polythene manufacturers worried over ban move

KT NEWS SERVICE JAMMU, Aug 17: J&K Polythene Manufactures and Traders expressed concern over the move of the government regarding introduction of Bill in forthcoming Assembly session for total ban on polythene manufacture, trading and use of polythene bags in the state.

According to press, statement issued by the members of the association this move is not justified as the case in this regard is going in Supreme Court of India.

They said that by imposing total ban on the manufacture and trading of the polythene bags lakhs of workers will be rendered jobless.

They said that government has already imposed ban on the manufactures of polythene bags below 20 microns and carrying of all types of all polythenes bags in tourist's places, hospitals etc.

They demanded government should concrete on the issue of disposable and recycling of all used bags instead of imposing total ban on the manufactures, trading and use of polythenes bags.
