KT NEWS SERVICE JAMMU, JAN 12 - Rama Krishna Mission Jammu organized an impressive function to mark 146th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda as National Youth Day (NYD) at Rama Krishna Vihar Udhowala Jammu today.
Divisional Commissioner Jammu Sudhanshu Pandey who was the chief guest on the occasion paid floral tributes to Swami Vivekananda.
Various school children delivered speech on the teachings of Swami Vivekananda and also presented National song.
Speaking on the occasion, Pandey stressed upon the youth to follow teachings and principles of Swami Vivekananda and adopt the path of determination, truthfulness and honesty to achieve success in life.
He also lauded the efforts of Rama Krishna Mission being made for the help and assistance of the society.
Divisional Commissioner also distributed mementos among the students of various schools participated in the function.
Secretary Rama Krishna Mission Jammu, Swami Girijeshananda also addressed the function and threw light on the life, teachings and mission of Swami Vivekananda.
Earlier, Mr Pandey visited Rama Krishna Medical Centre and enquired about the facilities being provided to the patients.
He also inspected various sections of the hospital which includes laboratories, dispensary, chambers of doctors, eye and dental section as well as x-ray section etc.
