KT NEWS SERVICE BANIHAL, Dec 14: Rich tributes have been given to renowned social activist, Haji Ghulam Mohd Naik, son of late Mohd Abdullah Naik and resident of Paristan in Banihal tehsil, who passed away on December 13 at Government Medical College (GMC) Hospital, Jammu.
Hundreds of people from across the Banihal tehsil mourned his death and joined cremation ceremony which was held at Ramban on December 14.
He is survived by two daughters and wife.
While paying tributes senior People's Democratic Party (PDP) leader, Farooq Assad Ullah Mir said that since his retirement as Superintendent Engineer from R&B Department, GM Naik tirelessly worked for the welfare of people and area.
Among others who have paid tributes to Ghulam Mohd Naik included Congress Leader, Sajjid Shahin, social activist, Abdul Majid Wani, Abdul Ghani Tantray, president Journalists Association Banihal, Mohd Taskeen, Director Estates, Bashir Ahmed Banihali, Mohd Saleem Bhat, Qazi Tazeem, Manzoor Ahmed Kamgar and Mohd Imtiyaz Kandey.
According to the family relations, "Chahlum" would be held on Monday, December 17 at Ramban.
