KT NEWS SERVICE JAMMU, Jan 12: Minister of state for industries and commerce Romesh Sharma today inaugurated 'Atta Chakki' unit at Hakkal village in Satwari established under Rural employment Generation Programme (REGP) of J&K Khadi and Village Industries Board (KVIB).
R C Sharma, secretary KVIB and other senior officers of the board also attended the function.
The unit with the cost of Rs 15.00 lakh was financed by J&K Bank, Nai Basti loan to which the KVIB has sanctioned and released margin money of Rs.
3.42 lakhs for the establishment of the unit.
The unit has further provided employment to ten persons.
The minister on the occasion handed over the cheque of margin money to the beneficiary.
Addressing on the occasion, the minister advised the rural unemployed artisans to come forward and bring themselves under the ambit of self employment ventures of KVIB and establish their own income generating units this will not only provide employment to the owner but will also generate employment opportunities for several other, he added.
The function was also attended by a large number of peoples besides bankers, panchayat, sarpanches of the area; prominent citizens also attended the function.
