KT NEWS SERVICE SRINAGAR, Feb 25: A woman was killed while three persons were injured in accidents across the valley today.
Police said an elderly lady Raja Begum, 55, wife of Ghulam Mohi-u-Din resident of Jenab Sahib Soura tripped over some article while she was cleaning the second storey of Jenab Sahib Soura shrine.
She fell down and got seriously injured.
Though efforts were made to rush her to hospital, she succumbed to her injures before she could be shifted to hospital.
Police has started investigation.
In a road accident, a Tata Sumo JK01F/1809 hit a pedestrian Wakeel Ahmad Shah and injuried him badly.
Police has registered a case against the driver.
A scooter JK01 E/7569 met with an accident at Habak Naseembagh-Srinagar due to which two persons got injured.
SI arrested KT NEWS SERVICE SRINAGAR, Feb 25: People last evening overpowered a police officer who according to them was moving in a car with a girl in a suspicious manner.
Reports said that local people in Karan Nagar caught a Sub Inspector Mukhtar Ahmad, who is posted in Budgam, with a girl moving in a suspicious manner in his Alto car last evening.
Reports added that they got infuriated after seeing the duo.
People handed him over to Police Station Karan Nagar.
But people today alleged that the accused was not punished by the concerned official at the Police Station at Karan Nagar.
However police said that Mukhtar has been arrested because he has threatened the civilians with his pistol.
