Dogri writers conference concludes

KT NEWS SERVICE JAMMU, Feb 4 : The concluding day of the Dogri writers conference held at Abhinav Theatre and organized by Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages was started with the paper reading session in which D C (ex-MP) and N D Jamwal also participated.

In this session Prof N D Sharma presented the paper on "Lok Kalyaayan Da Dogra Jan-Jeevan, Ch.

Thahar, Dr Veena Gupta presented Dogri Kavita Ik Jaiza and Dr Ashok Jearth presented his research paper on Dogri Vastu Kala: Haraas Te Vikas.

These papers were discussed in a healthy manner in which various issues of Dogri Lok Kala, Dogri Vastu-Kala and Dogri Poetry of the region were critically appreciated.

In the evening on the concluding session, Prof Lalit Magotra, Krishna Prem, Krishan Sharma, Nirmal Vikram and Raj Rahi presented their short stories while Dr Veena Gupta, Prakash Premi and Mohan Singh among others gave their analytic remarks about the form, content and craft of these short stories.

A 2-minutes silence was observed as a homage to late D D Thakur, a multifaceted personality and former Governor of Assam and also Deputy Chief Minister of the state.
