KT NEWS SERVICE JAMMU, June 7: The Praja Pati (Kumhar) Sabha met under the chairmanship of Omprakash to discuss the plight of backward classes.
The meeting was organized by Ramesh Chander, district president, Rajouri and Chaman Lal, district president, Reasi.
They criticized the role of state government for doing nothing to better the condition of the community.
They expressed resentment over unsympathetic attitude of the government in resolving the grievances of the community which has been suffering from unemployment and illiteracy.
They said that government has been approached for the modification of SRO 294 to grant reasonable reservation quota and OBC certificates which would be admissible in state and central departments.
But it is shocking that inspite of all the efforts the community is suffering from maltreatment at the hands of the authorities.
Ayoudhya Kumar Manawa, Master Darshan Lal among others addressed the gathering.
Congress leader holds rallies KT NEWS SERVICE SAMBA, June 7: Senior Congress leader and district president, Trade Union Congress Satwant Kaur Dogra addressed gatherings at village Tanth and Kapahi of district Samba today.
She said that her basic objective is to strengthen the party at grass root level, boost the morale of party workers and motivate people towards voting for nominees of the party in the district.
She said the constituency has been neglected in all spheres of development during the tenure of BSP and Pnthers Party MLAs as funds meant for development were not properly utilized.
She attributed non performance and un accountability as causes of neglect towards the area.
She said that villages are facing water and electricity problems.
People apprised her about the problems being faced by them and informed her of no road connectivity.
